Vote from Home
Due
to the COVID-19 outbreak, the safest way to vote is from home.
You may email or call our office to request your absentee application ballot, or visit the Department of Elections website at
www.elections.virginia.gov.
Witness Signature Special Instructions: If you believe
you may not safely have a witness present to sign your ballot envelope
while completing the absentee ballot for the Nov. 3 elections, you are
not require to do so. Your ballot will not be rejected due to a missing
witness signature. These instructions override any on your ballot
envelopes regarding witness signature.

Return Your ballot
Mail your voted ballot so that it is postmarked on or before election day and received at Essex County Elections Office, PO Box 1561, Tappahannock, VA 22560 by noon the Friday after election day.
Return your ballot to the General Registrar at 205 S.
Cross St., Suite B, Tappahannock. You may bring your ballot to our
walk-up window, or call us at 804-443-4611 and we will pick up your
ballot curbside.
Drop your ballot in our secure secure drop box (24/7) at 205 S. Cross ST., Suite B, Tappahannock.

Vote in-person or Curbside
In-person Early voting will be available in the Voter Registration &
Election office at 205 S. Cross St., Suite B.
Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
September 18-October 31.
and
Saturdays October 24 & October 31 from 9am-5pm.

Park curbside in our designated voter parking space and call (804) 443-4611. You may vote right in your vehicle.
The office will be closed on Monday October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
Accessible Voting
For those unable to vote absentee by mail, or curbside, a ballot
marking device is available in the Voter Registration & Elections
Office. If you need this service, please call the office in advance to
make an appointment (804) 443-4611.
